INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

The Experience
A very comfy massage chair, fluffy white towels, candles, an open fire and a choice of home grown blended teas awaits you at Angel Studios.
On your first visit, while you sip your tea, we’ll go through the medical checklist together, to make sure I know everything I need to give you the best experience. Once you’re ready we’ll move to the massage space, where the massage can be done clothed or topless, dry or with oil, as a one off or part of a longer term detoxing and rebalancing programme depending on your needs and what you want to achieve and experience.
The use of oils, such as macerated fresh sage and rosemary, enhances the long lasting benefits of the massage and also plays a fundamental role in keeping your scalp and hair healthy and supple.
We also have a range of calming, balancing, and energising aromatherapy / therapeutic grade essential oils to choose from for massaging your back, arms and face.
At the end of the massage, I will give you a little time (and some more tea if you like) to soak in the experience and notice any change in your level of energy and mood. I will show you what I mapped out during the massage in terms of tenderness, tension and anything else you might like to be aware of. And at that time we can also draft some personal wellbeing notes on your Angel Studio Booklet for you to take home, which can support you in gaining lasting, longer term benefits.
A Sumptuous Ritual
This opulent one hour long Indian head massage is excellent for releasing physical mental and emotional stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. A course of a few sessions is especially good for relieving chronic tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraines and sinusitis. The marma (energy) points of the neck, shoulders, scalp and face are gently stimulated and drained, leaving you feeling simultaneously calm and relaxed, energised, revitalised and much better focused and ready for action, or, in case you come in the evening, soothed and ready for a good sleep.
Our Indian Head Massage will leave you feel whole again and it’s a wonderful way to get in touch with your body and prepare you for a day of Thought Marking or an Integrative Body Mapping weekend.

THOUGHT MARKING
Relax- Discover- Find a new Direction
We all feel the pressure to know exactly what’s going on in our minds and in our lives. Yet sometimes, the full flavour of life seems diluted. We may unexpectedly find ourselves falling into recurring patterns, or we work hard, but feel we are somehow missing the full rewards. Thought marking is an intuitive, guided process to help us visualise and make sense of our internal world, and plot a clear course forward.
Using a mix of materials, textures, natural scents and colours, you will be guided to create on A3 card, a visual representation of your head, and all that is going on in it. This is a safe environment to rediscover a spontaneous, child-like approach. We’ll crush, crumple, tear, staple and glue as you pull apart and build up layers on the paper, till it’s time for a scrumptious home baked cake and a hot drink. We’ll plunge into our creative endeavour again, and by the end of the day, the images, words, shapes and colours in your head will have found their place on the card, giving you a fresh perspective on the triggers, patterns and drivers of your every day life, and renewed clarity on the way forward.
The art piece you’ll take home will serve you for many weeks to navigate through a new found sense of focus and direction, and, if you choose, it will prepare you for the wonderful work of Integrative Body Mapping.
Notes on Mark Making
A single line can be uncertain or agitated, happy or hopeful. It might stop, disappear, or continue in a long, straight line, or slowly curl onto itself till it becomes a tangle, just like our thoughts. Learning to make marks that actually reflect our thoughts and our emotional inner state is a powerful and liberating step. It allows behavioural patterns to surface, and gives us a sense of belonging, equilibrium and calm. It provides a clear map of our minds and, in some cases, an invigorating emotional workout. Mark making can be deeply cathartic – even if you haven’t picked up a crayon since you were a child. Come and surprise yourself.
A full day of Thought Marking will give you:

A journey of discovery
The complex stories of our lives are imprinted on our bodies. They are the culmination of our genetic heritage and life-experiences to date. Yet, we often leave the voice of our bodies un heard, un-acknowledged, and date. Yet, we often leave the voice of our bodies un heard, un-acknowledged, and this “lack of presence” creates gaps between what we think and what we feel, what we know about ourselves. These little tiny gaps create places of numbness to some emotions, to parts of the body, and an even bigger gap between who we are and what we project about ourselves, often leaving us feeling unfulfilled.
Integrated practices
Integrative Body Mapping is a creative process that uses space, body, movement, sound, textures, free flow writing and art materials combining artistic expression (no artistic know-how required!) with guided reflection to help you listen to the natural wisdom of your body in a fun, safe and colourful environment.
IBM Experience
Creatively exploring and representing sources of past and current enjoyment, as well as pain and trauma held by our bodies, is an efficient and rewarding way to re-engage with our sense of self, gradually learning trough the weekend to be present to our body and reconnect to it filling those gaps.
By using the body as a site of creative research and exploration, we create a visual Body Map of ourselves: a life-sized outline of our own (fully-clothed) body. We will add to our body map throughout the course, using materials, colours and textures that best represent our felt experience.
The series of multi-sensory activities brings emotions to the surface, engaging us beyond the mental level; even painful experiences from our past can become valuable tools once we’re able to process and assimilate them in a healthy way.
Clarity & wholeness
The Body art work produced will be strikingly unique, it will talk to you in a quirky, unrepeatable language, and will empower you to navigate your way towards a more complete awareness of who you are, replacing unhelpful thought-structures and showing you the most empowered, positive and connected version of you.

MEDITATION
For interested clients, I offer free meditation coaching, which we can integrate into other sessions.
I have 20+ years experience in a very ancient meditation practice, which allows us to easily experience the silent and joyful state of thoughtless awareness.
Mastering the use of the Elements to balance our subtle system (parasympathetic and chakras) enhances our practice allowing us to reach a much higher state of wellbeing.
This can also be practiced at home once you have learnt some basic techniques.
Just let me know at the time of booking so we can allow extra time. Finding inner peace is our own right as human beings and these sessions are free as my way of sharing knowledge and giving back to the world.
